Stretching before a run is crucial to prevent injury and will help in overall performance.
But you need to make sure you’re doing dynamic stretches, not static.
Dynamic wakes the body up.
Static cools the body down.
Here’s 8 of my favorite dynamic stretches that you can do in under 10 minutes!
1) Open Book Spine Twist (left & right side)
2) Active Happy Baby Pose (left & right side)
3) Kneeling Hip Circles (left & right side)
4) High Lunge With Arm Circles (left and right side)
5) Squat To Stand
6) Standing Side Body Bend (alternating between left & right side)
7) Prasarita Lunges (alternating between left & right side)
8) Forward Fold Release
